Stillwater Yacht Club was established in 1948 to promote yachting on beautiful Carmel Bay.  Its membership is not just for boat owners, but to all that share a love for the sea.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Club activities start in May with a complimentary Pier Opening Party and end in November with the elegant Commodore's Ball.  The Humma Humma Party and the Roundup at Indian Village are outstanding annual events.  Other summer activities include numerous Beach BBQ's, regatta events, and weekly dinghy racing in conjunction with Thursday Evening Cocktail hour in The Beach Club dining room.

RECIPROCAL PRIVILEDGES

Membership includes the added benefit of being able to visit and enjoy reciprocal priviledges with most yacht clubs around the world.

ADULT SAILING

Stillwater Yacht Club currently owns two Santana 22s, three FJs, seven DeWitt Dinghies, eight Walker Bays and four Kayaks for our adult members to enjoy free of cost.  Lessons are available by appointment at a nominal fee.  Members may take the boats out on Carmel Bay upon demonstrating competent sailing skills.  One Santana 22 is berthed in Monterey Harbor and use involves additional fees to offset slip expenses.
Stillwater Yacht Club is a certified American Sailing Association school, qualifying sailors for a certificate in basic keelboat operation.

JUNIOR SAILING LESSONS

Sailing instruction in FJs and DeWitt Dinghies is available to children ages 8 and older between the months of June and August.  Lessons are available for a nominal fee.  Classes are held Monday thru Friday and are taught by a USSA certified Sailing Instructor.

RACING

Stillwater Yacht Club Members have won national championships in a wide variety of competitive classes.  We host regattas in Mercury Class Sloops and Santana 22's.  The club also sponsors other less serious events at the Thursday evening Adult Sailing schedule.
